Please join us in celebrating our 50th Anniversary of this fun-in-the-snow event! Riff Raff Brewing Company from Pagosa Springs, Colorado will be on-site this year!

Our theme this year is: 

  • Seventies on the Slopes! 

In honor of our 50th anniversary, we are taking it back to the 1970s! Still have those bell-bottoms? Been itching to dust off that disco outfit? This is your chance! Come in costume for the Sunday races, starting at 10:00 am to be entered! Prizes are awarded to Best Adult, Best Youth, and Best Group.

Schedule is still tentative. We are planning to have three ski clinics offered, participants must supply their own skis, poles, and boots. 

  • Beginner Cross-Country Skiing
  • Advanced Cross-Country Skiing
  • Freestyle (Skate) Skiing

Meeting outdoors at the race course. It will take place after the last race.

Schedule is still tentative regarding the guided tours to the Spruce Hole Area & Yurt this year. 

The level of difficulty for this tour is typically Easy – Moderate. You usually will need to bring skis, poles, boots, water, and lunch. We will keep you updated!

Awards & Prizes

1st Place Medals

All medals will be mailed to 1st Place winners, top female and male racers. Medals are awarded in 10 year age categories for adults and 5 year age categories for youth.

Special Awards

Top 6K Ski/6K Snowshoe combined racers will earn the Prince and Princess of the Mountain title.

Top 12K Ski/6K Snowshoe combined racers will earn the King and Queen of the Mountain title.

Costume Contest

Categories are Best Adult Costume, Best Youth Costume, and Best Group Costume. Prizes will be awarded on the mountain after the Rookie Race on Sunday. 

Rookie Ribbons

All Rookie Race participants will receive a participant ribbon. The philosophy of the Rookie Race is "IF YOU HAD FUN, YOU WON!".  The goal of the Rookie Race is to help beginners enjoy the experience of skiing or snowshoeing on a race course.
